So India should purchase more 36 Rafale--F-5 for Indian Air Force and another 26 Rafale--F-3R for Indian Navy.... After purchasing these 62 Rafales, India should stop to purchase any fourth generation fighter aircrafts and take focus on fifth generation fighter aircrafts...

The Su 30MKI option might be viable if it was only for new airframes and engines only with indigenous upgrade conponents for Super Sukhoi upgrade for avionics, radar and fly by wire controls, because Russian avionics, radar, and missiles are rubbish.

2.04 "French Dassault throws a Wrench in MRFA Program." And we're what? Surprised by this? In the late 2000s the Rafale was selected for the AMCA Program. India was going to procure 126 Rafales; (with an option on 64 more). The first 18 were to be built by Dassault and the remaining 108 by India... And then Dassault threw another wrench in the works. As I remember they refused to certify any Rafales that would have been built in India and the whole Program ground to a halt. It seems to me history's repeating itaelf!

Were one time purchase Rafale's really a good choice since Dassault does not do technology transfer. Wouldnt a small batch of 36 F35B STOVL variants not have been ideal for 1 time purchase with no technology transfer instead. F35B could have been ideal in contested airspaces and in first few weeks of battle with China and Pakistan. They could have been dually used by IAF and Navy. Navy more so since we have the US based MH60 and P8I already and it would have enabled network operations. Zero sense for Navy to go with Rafale M. India could use the SU30Mki and Tejas in less conjested areas. C130J /IL76 could be used as a bomber if required.

Already 22 years have passed since when Mrfa was brought in, now Scrap Mrfa. Completely Please... Mighty Tejas, Imaginary Amca will protect us. Other dying fighter jet of 90's era like Mig 21 25 29 jaguar, mirage, Sukoi etc are good to be moved to museums at different cities of country. Entertainment will be for visitors and our airforce jawans will be safe.😊

Without a FULL production line in India, Dassault physically cannot make enough planes to satisfy their orders. And, considering it's their ONLY top of the line fighter, there is no way in hell they will give ToT. What is it with India and ToT? It feels like they want to buy everything for a bargain price, not develop any of their own technology to trade, and not take sides or develop true alliances with ANYONE, then the stomp their feet when -surprising nobody- there isnt anyone who'll agree to that. I love watching India grow, but this is a serious hurdle. It feels almost like India doesn't understand what it means to stand on their own in the world stage.

Any country which provides technology transfer for mrfa please go with it and local production in india. We need 114 aircraft under mrfa and 36 su57 so that our AMCA can get a boost. Because it is 5th generation it will be expensive and we don't want our AMCA to get hurt. 36 to 50 units of su57 should be enough. Also for transport aircraft again technology transfer and made in india and lowest bid should be preferred. Because both the transport planes are good. Also the practicality easyness and cargo space operational cost should also be considered. As said earlier both planes are good. Another option if in transport planes GOI doesn't want to spend enough money then go for mini transport plane c295. Order more c295 as it is already in the process of procurement thus saving money and time. All the best and good luck.

SAAB Gripen offers 100% tech transfer but the vital question is "How can it transfer 100% tech since it uses American General Electric Aero Engine"? Second important point, when our indigenous Tejas Mk-2 can match Gripen then why should we go for a foreigner Single Engine aircraft? France is reluctant to tech transfer. So forget about Rafale. Let's consider Euro-Fighter Typhoon if they agree upon 100% transfer of Tech(including it's engine tech) Remember, Typhoon is a bit superior to Rafale. So it'd be a great deal if we get that at cheaper price as they're already ready to reduce price.
